Autohaven Museum
The Autohaven Collection is home to some of the world’s rarest and most sought after vehicles, including a 1930 Cadillac V-16, a 1962 Jaguar E-type and a 2022 Rolls-Royce Phantom. There is a nice assortment of exciting motorcycles as well.
Bill Richardson Transport World
Reputedly the largest private collection of its type in the world:
- Over 300 trucks and 150 petrol bowsers
- Significant Henry Ford collection
- Vast array of motoring memorabilia
Canterbury Museum
The Canterbury Museum purchased the Ivan Mauger Collection in 2016. Ivan Mauger was a multiple motorcycle champion. The collection includes Mauger's gold-plated bike, the collection includes the bike he rode when he broke the world long track speed record in 1986 and the first Jawa 4-valve bike ever produced, on which he won the 1976 World Long Track Championship. It also includes trophies, vests, leathers and a variety of other objects.
Cars Inc Museum & Cafe
Paul Boden and Jenny Gower set up a 2200 m2 facility next to an old General Motors plan, where vehicles from the 1950s through to the 1970s, along with auto memorabilia are being shown. Cars Inc was opened in late 2023.
Classics Museum
"Over 100 cars and more... Our collection encompasses a range of interests including an extensive collection of petrol memorabilia - enamel signs, pumps, tins and oil bottles. There is something Classic for the whole family, we cater for a wide range of interests with vintage toys, pedal cars and scenes from early New Zealand."
E. Hayes and Sons
Every year hundreds of visitors from all around the world journey to E Hayes and Sons' Invercargill store for one reason - to see a remarkable vintage motorcycle with their own eyes and stand in the presence of a legend. Geraldine Vintage Car & Machinery Museum
The Geraldine Vintage Car and Machinery Museum is the finest of its type in the Southern Hemisphere. On display are vintage cars, vintage tractors, vintage farm machinery and plenty of other interesting things.
Highlands Motor Museum
The Highlands Museum is home to the some of the rarest cars in NZ motorsport history but also some hidden gems that include an authentic American sheriff’s patrol car, a larger than life Transformer’s Bumblebee action figure on display and even several arcade driving games.
Hillsborough Holden Museum
Unique to New Zealand and only a 10 minute drive from the centre of New Plymouth situated in the heart of the Hillsborough district. Hillsborough Holden Museum was purposely built for the preservation and display of a private collection of Australian Holden cars and memorabilia. The cars range from well preserved early models, meticulously restored models through to late model new cars.
Horrell's Ford Collection
A purpose built building on a farm houses Richard Horrell's unique Ford collection.
