Visit to Porsche Automuseum Helmut Pfeifhofer

Picture
Gmund

If you’re in the mood for rare and unique Porsche classics, you don’t necesseraly need to visit Porsche’s own high-tech museum in Stuttgart. Well worth visiting is Helmut Pfeifhofer’s private collection in the picturesque Austrian town of Gmünd, once the production hub for the first 52 Porsche 356 Coupés and Cabriolets. We were amazed to find aluminium and wood models of the early 356, not to mention the 910/S Bergspyder and the Formel Super V racecar. A VW Typ 87 Kommandeurwagen and a Porsche 597 Jagdwagen are nice additions to this exceptional collection of about 20 cars. More details on this museum are available here
