Museums in Sweden

Technology and Maritime House

The technology and maritime museum in Malmö, Sweden’s third largest city, illustrates many aspects of engineering, particularly those relating to transport. It is housed in a building of the 1950s which has extensions to give access to one of its chief attractions – a Class U3 submarine of the Swedish Navy. Visitors can go through the whole vessel and most are impressed by the confined spaces in which submariners had to work.

Toveks Automobile Museum, Kinna

At the Tovek Bilmuseum Kinna (in the basement of the VW Hall) there is a completely unique car collection. A gold mine for those interested in car history. Gregor Tovek, owner of Tovek's Car, started collecting cars in 1994. The first was a DKW and then the interest and collection grew as well. Now the car museum contains over 30 cars, most of which are Volkswagens. Previously, these cars were located around Sweden at our Toveks facilities, but when the basement (which used to be a bowling alley) became vacant at the Volkswagen Hall in Kinna, the cars were moved there.
