The museum is situated between Stockholm and Gothenburg, by the east shore of the lake Vättern. We are located in the 70 year old grain storage house in the harbour of Motala, a few meters from the guest harbour. Also the old channel boats, that travel the Göta Kanal between Stockholm and Gothenburg, anchor here during summertime.
At the Volvo museumyoucan follow the history of Volvo and the development from 1927 until today. The museum exhibits products from the whole Volvo range, including cars, trucks, buses, construction equipment, marine engines, aero and many more interesting Volvo products.
Featuring 120,000 square feet of automobile displays and open viewing restoration bays. Over 100 antique, classic and collectible automobiles, chronologically displayed, illustrate the progress of over 100 years of automobile design and engineering. Your self-guided tour begins with an 1886 Benz, representing the birth of the automobile, and culminates with a never-driven 1994 Dodge Viper.

The Larz Anderson Auto Museum is home to "Americas oldest car collection".
Larz and Isabel Anderson began their love affair with the automobile before the turn of the century. In 1899, soon after they married, they purchased an 1899 Winton Runabout, a true horseless carriage. From 1899 to 1948 the Andersons purchased at least thirty-two new motorcars, in addition to numerous carriages, creating America's oldest motorcar collection.
Trains, streetcars, trolleys, trucks, buses, cars, ships, and planes — all provide transportation. But, more than this, they often hold a fascination for us that sets them apart from other facets of our daily lives.
From an age dominated by horse power and wagons to our present period overshadowed by supersonic jet aircraft and sports utility-vehicles, the Walker Transportation Collection has something to captivate anyone’s attention.

The Fire Museum of Maryland opened in 1971 and displays apparatus from 1806 to 1957.

The Owls Head Transportation Museum exhibits and operates a large collection of pioneer-era aircraft, antique automobiles, engines, bicycles, carriages and motorcycles. Flights of pioneer aircraft most summer weekends, weather permitting. Special events throughout the year.
