Henri Malartre Museum
Henri Malartre, opened his museum in 1960 in a nice castle near Lyon in 1960. In 1972 the city of Lyon bought the museum. Among the extensive and unique offerings are the first front wheel drive car and a 400hp armored Mercedes parade car used by Adolf Hitler. There are also extensive bicycle and motorcycle collections from the late 19th and early 20th century.
Historical Center of Firefighting, Thiers
The Center Historique du monde Sappeur-Pompier brings together an extraordinary collection of fire engines and equipment, but also documents, toys etc. over an area of 1.500 m².
JCM Museum of Off-Road Motorcycles
A museum dedicated to JCM (Joël Corroy Moto), a French manufacturer of off-road motorcycles and also to motocross and endurance racing from the 1950s to the 1980s. Over 80 bikes are displayed in three rooms. The museum is hosted by Trail70, a motorcycle showroom.
L'Aventure Michelin
Covering 2,000 square metres of floor space, L’Aventure Michelin was designed first and foremost to house an extraordinary French industrial heritage. The collection includes such memorable items from Michelin’s past as the first poster by cartoonist O’Galop, the 1905 Michelin Sole tread, the Michelin Guide used by the D-Day armies in 1944 and a futuristic test vehicle from the 1970s.
L'Estanco Auto Moto Museum
The Estanco presents a private collection of cars, motorcycles, old bicycles, small agricultural equipment, tools and a steamroller from 1949. It will transport you from 1898 to the present day and will make you discover the evolution of locomotion.
This museum houses a private collection of cars, motorcycles, bicycles, small agricultural equipment,
enamel plates, aircraft parts, items relating to the Great War and the Second World War as well as a model of the transporter bridge built by Ferdinand Anodin in Marseille in 1905.
Loire Firefighting Museum
Local firefighting museum with a lot of fire engines that was created in 1998, the Loire Fire Brigade Museum is recognized by the National Federation.
Lorraine Automobile Museum
Installed in the Leisure Park of the Forest of Haye, on the outskirts of the city of Nancy, the Automobile Museum of Lorraine is animated and managed by an association which bears the same name: Association Musée de l'Automobile de Lorraine (ex ALAACL).
The vehicles on display mostly belong to individuals who are members of the association.
Lyon & Rhône Fire Brigade Museum
Today, the Lyon & Rhône Firemen's Museum is one of the most important of its kind, both in France and in Europe. The Museum is divided into four main parts : - Antique Pumps & Trailer pumps - Hall of Fame - Miscellaneous & Fire Gear - Fire Engines & Motorized The latter is a major collection, counting more than a hundred vehicles, which have presently been repaired or are in the process of being so. This exhibition shows a broad selection of vehicles dating from the beginning of the XXth century until the 70's (displayed in two different parts of the Museum).
Manor of The Automobile
This is one of the finest museums in Europe dedicated to the history of the automobile. 15,000 m2 of exhibition space in a seventeenth-century mansion. More than 400 vehicles (including 30 horse-drawn vehicles, 50 motorcycles and bicycles) of all types, ages and nationalities, illustrate a century of automobile. One hundred mannequins in dresses from the era, animate all the collections and the thousands of objects presented.
