The Shrine of Italian Victories

"The Vittoriale Degli Italiani (The Shrine of Italian Victories)", is the monumental city-home, created in Gardone Riviera, on Lake Garda by the Italian poet Gabriele D'Annunzio between 1921 and 1938. The Vittoriale is not only an impressive house, but also comprises streets and squares, gardens, rivers, theatres and museums.

In tribute to and in memory of d’Annunzio’s passion for automobiles, an automobile museum was set up in 2017. Titled "The Automobile is Female" here visitors can admire through the large windows the finest details of the FIAT Tipo 4 with which the Commander entered Fiume and which he never left behind, along with the Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8B, the poet’s last automobile. The Alfa Romeo Soffio di Satana 6C 2300 T also returned to the Vittoriale in 2019. Alongside the cars, some of the poet's personal items are on display, including his cotton and linen duster, his driving glasses, his cloth cap with a clear visor, his driving cap, his Automobile Club de France membership card, a trophy and a racing medal, and the registration certificate issued by the Touring Club of Italy for a Fiat.
