Museums in Italy

Inaugurated on 14 June 2017 by the Circolo Auto Moto d'Epoca "Alzavalvola", this museum tells the story of two wheels, starting from the bicycles of the late nineteenth century up to more modern motorbikes, over the span of a century.

This collection is dedicated to the memory of Piero Taruffi, a great Italian automobile racer.

The National Motorcycle Museum, a source of pride for Rimini and Italy, has opened after the transfer of the exhibition just 5 km away from its previous location. The museum is now housed in two buildings, in an old house completely restored and in a building with a more modern and functional design. In the museum you can find: 250 motorcycles from their origin to today; an exaustive library of approximately 10.000 original books on the history of motorcycles; old accessories, and posters and photographs from the world of motorcycles.

The National Museum of Science and Technology 'Leonardo da Vinci' in Milan is Italy's largest science and technology museum. It has 10,000 items on display, and runs educational activities in 15 interactive laboratories, presenting the evolution of science and technology by exploring the relationship between people and machines, taking Leonardo da Vinci as a starting point.

The National Transport Museum opened in Spezia in 1986. Originally dedicated solely to trolleybuses, the museum later expanded to include vehicles on wheels and trains. The museum now has exhibitions in the historical hangar belonging to the ATC and in a special undercover area in Santo Stefano Magra. The collection currently comprises of 16 trolleybuses, 40 inter and outer-city buses, 3 trams, 8 service vehicles, 7 locomotives and 5 railway carriages. The trolleybus section is the main attraction

The Nicolis museum, which was set up by local enterpreneur Luciano Nicolis has a fantastic collection of cars, motorbikes, cameras, typewriters, musical instruments.

Gianni Spagnolo, a Vespa enthusiast set up his collection, which began with a 1964 Vespa 125. Today there are 36 Vespa scooters, motorcycles and even a small car are shown.
