Porsche Museum

Porsche

The Porsche Museum is located close to the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart. Originally it was set up in 1976 as a ‘works museum’ with space to display a maximum of 20 cars. Beginning in the 1990s, new management at Porsche transformed the sports car company. As part of its new image, a brand new museum was envisioned in 2004, and was opened in 2009. Over 80 cars are exhibited “and every four-wheeled exhibit can be started up and driven off at any point. In addition to a chronological display, which charts the life and works of Ferdinand Porsche as a designer, engineer and consultant in the early 20th century and the evolution f Porsche sports and racing cars, there are theme islands, like ’Leicht’ (Light) referring to lightweight construction.
