“British Icons: Driven by Innovation” Exhibition Opens at Haynes Motor Museum on Monday
A new exhibition revealing the untold stories of the people who designed, built and advanced some of the most iconic British cars in history launches at Haynes Motor Museum on Monday, 21st July.
“Beep-Beep, Yeah!: The Sounds and Songs of the Motor Car” Opens at British Motor Museum
"Beep-Beep, Yeah!: The Sounds and Songs of the Motor Car" explores the sensory connection to the sound of a car. From the engine rumble to the rhythm of your favourite tune, discover the strong relationship between sounds and our driving experience. For the first time, in a brand-new exhibition space, we have the opportunity to explore more than we have before. Flowing from the mechanical sounds to the social, Beep-Beep, Yeah includes a journey through the history of in-car entertainment. The star car of the exhibition is a white 1965 Rolls-Royce Phantom V, once owned by John Lennon! This Rolls-Royce appeared in the Beatles film, Let It Be, and features alongside some other awesome cars including a 2019 Wells Vertige Prototype.
“Detroit Wheels: Early Motor City Stories” Is Now On At The Ford Piquette Plant Museum
A special collaboration between the Detroit Historical Society and the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant Museum brings together an extraordinary collection of vehicles from Detroit’s first heyday of automobile invention, including handmade vehicles, one-of-a-kind automobiles, and cars associated with famous Detroit names. On display in the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant Museum's first-floor event space, see ten rare vehicles from the Detroit Historical Society collection, normally stored in archival “bubbles,” plus two other historic vehicles: one on loan from Fair Lane Estate and one from a private collection. View these priceless cars up close for the first time in many years with storytelling, historic maps, and other artifacts.This exhibition runs until 17 August.

Mercedes Is Being Honoured By The Museum of Automotive History in Salamanca
Museo de Historia de la Automoción in Salamanca, Spain pays tribute to the legendary German brand, bringing together around twenty vehicles.The starting point is a replica of the original Benz Patent Motorwagen. Visitors can also admire historic models such as the 1903 Mercedes Simplex, vehicles from the 1930s and 1940s such as the Type 320, the 170 V, and the imposing 770 Limousine. Also on display are iconic models such as the 1953 Mercedes-Benz 220, the 1955 Unimog, the 1963 230 SL, and the iconic 300 SL and 450 SEL.

1948 Holden 48-215 Joins National Automobile Museum of Tasmania
On 29 November 1948, 1200 men and women, including Prime Minister Ben Chifley, greeted the first Holden with loud applause. This was a completely new six-cylinder sedan and became the first successfully massed produced Australian car. The cars were powered by a 132.5 cubic inches (2,170 cc) inline six-cylinder engine, commonly referred to (due to its paint colour) as a "grey motor". Only 163 cars were built in 1948; this example is Body No. 37, the 37th vehicle produced, and one of the first three to come to Tasmania.
