Between 1985 and 1993 Tour De Sol was a pioneering achievement that attracted international attention and highlighted Switzerland's innovative strength in solar technology and electric mobility. Forty years later, the Swiss Solar Energy Association (SSES) and the Verkehrsmuseu (Swiss Museum of Transport) look back on this milestone. Around 20 original solar-powered vehicles – from sleek racing models to prototypes suitable for everyday use – impressively illustrate the innovative strength of this era.
Reno’s National Automobile Museum Unveils $4 Million Renovation
The National Automobile Museum, known for its extensive collection of historic vehicles, has completed a $4 million renovation aimed at enhancing the visitor experience. The museum, which opened in 1989 with 175 automobiles and now houses over 240 vehicles, has undergone a comprehensive modernization to address the evolving needs of its visitors. Key improvements include upgraded galleries for a more immersive experience, a new banquet area, two outdoor patios, and a flexible rotating exhibits gallery.
Latest Exhibit of NASCAR Hall of Fame Dedicated to Wood Brothers Racing
For 75 years, Wood Brothers Racing has helped shape NASCAR history. Founded by NASCAR Hall of Fame Class of 2012 inductee Glenn Wood, the team has earned 101 Cup Series wins, including 5 Daytona 500 victories. NASCAR Hall of Fame's latest exhibit, presented by Ford Motorcraft, celebrates that legacy with 5 cars, 3 hand-built custom vehicles by Leonard Wood.

New Exhibition Set To Open On 1 August at 24-Hour LeMans Pop-Up Museum
"Starting August 1st, a new chapter opens at the 24 Hours Museum. Discover our brand new exhibition, 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗱𝘂 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲". The Museum is reinventing itself. It will be closed from July 8th to 31st.
Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport and Chiron Super Sport Currently on Display at PS.SPEICHER
Two new hypercars are enriching the collection of PS.SPEICHER, and both bear the Bugatti name. A Chiron Pur Sport will be on display in the foyer for a week starting on July 3. A Chiron Super Sport will be shown exclusively during the Einbeck Classic Car Days (July 4-6) in the courtyard of the PS.SPEICHER. Both hypercars represent pure engineering, brutal performance – and absolute rarity.

National Motor Museum Takes Sunbeam 350hp Blue Bird To Wales For World Land Speed Record Centenary
TThe National Motor Museum is taking the iconic Sunbeam 350hp vehicle to Pendine in Carmarthenshire, Wales to celebrate the centenary anniversary of its World Land Speed Record in 1925. "The car christened ‘Blue Bird’ by its driver Sir Malcolm Campbell MBE, was the first to exceed 150 mph (240 km/h). The World Land Speed Record of 150.766 mph (242.628 km/h) was set at Pendine beach, Carmarthenshire, Wales on the 21 July 1925*. Now part of the vehicle collection at the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, the Museum is celebrating this feat of British engineering and the centenary of the historic event.
Harrington Sunbeam Alpine and Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 Arrive at Gilbert’s Motor Museum
Two new vehicles have arrived over last weekend to the Gilbert's Motor Museum of Australia. The 1961 Harrington Sunbeam Alpine and 1976 Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 are currently on display at the museum, which is open Wednesday thru to Sunday, 10am - 4pm.
1982 Ford Falcon XE Grand Prix Now on Display at NAMT
This 1982 Ford Falcon XE Grand Prix is currently on display in the Hall of Muscle at National Automobile Museum of Tasmania. When Ford stopped making V8 Falcons in Australia in 1982, Dick Johnson saw a niche for a performance Ford to keep up with Peter Brock's Commodore road cars. Working with turbocharging guru David Inall, they produced a turbocharged performance version of the 4.1 litre six cylinder Falcon that produced 190 kW - enough to run the standing 400 metres in the mid-14 seconds. The car on display is build number 17.
1935 Framo LTH 200 Donated to Fahrzeugmuseum Chemnitz
At the end of June, Fahrzeugmuseum Chemnitz received a special donation: a 1935 Framo LTH 200. The previous owner, Hubert Winklhofer, whose grandfather, Johann Baptist Winklhofer, co-founded the Wanderer factory in Schönau in 1885, had retired and donated his Framo, which had previously been used as an advertising vehicle for his street cleaning company, to the museum. Once made drivable again, the Framo could also be used for various tasks at the museum.
Museum of Automotive Engineering and Technology Adds a Fiat 126 Bis to Its Collection
On July 3, a Fiat 126 Bis arrived at the Museum of Automotive Engineering and Technology in Głuszyca. It may remind one of another exhibit from the museum's collection, which has had a standard Fiat 126 in the same color for a long time. Now visitors can spot the differences between the two models.
1951 Unimog 25 PS Enriches Collection of Ivars Automobile Museum
A Unimog 25 PS from 1951 is the newest addition to the collection of Ivars Automobile Museum. Probably the oldest Unimog in Sweden, it was sold new to Kramfors AB (SCA) Dorotea district and has since remained in Avaträsk until about 10 years ago, when Sten Dahlöw took it over. The Dahlöw family in Häggenås donated the car to the museum.
AMCM Adds Three Viper ACRs to Its Collection
The newest examples of the Dodge Viper to join the American Muscle Car Museum are these three ACRs. Here we have a 2008 ACR in Viper Violet, a 2010 ACR in Very Viper Orange, and a 2010 ACR Final Edition in Graphite. These three cars have a combined twenty original miles, have been comprehensively serviced and detailed, and are now on display at AMCM.
Two Buses Are the First Commercial Vehicles Worldwide to Receive a FIVA ID Card
Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens issued two ID Cards during the recently held FIVA World Event for Utilitarian Vehicles. The first bus to be issued this document was a 1988 Neoplan N 4021, and the second was a 1967 FBW Alpenwagen “Europabus” whose certificate was presented by Jochen Thoma of the FIVA National Member the ADAC in the presence of FIVA President Tiddo Bresters
