FIVA Celebrates 60th Anniversary
February 26, 1966, marks the day that a group of organizations representing historical vehicle enthusiasts from a number of countries banded together to form an international body dedicated exclusively to the promotion, protection and preservation of motorized historical vehicles including automobiles, motorcycles, buses, trucks and tractors. That organization emerged into what is known today as the Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens (FIVA). In the sixty years that have passed, FIVA has come a long way, growing exponentially and is now represented in over ninety countries, present in every continent and having over two million members.

R.E. Olds Transportation Museum Previews New Temporary Exhibit

The museum plans to open this new exhibit in late April 2026.

Jim Clark Racing Cars To Go On Public Display For First Time
The Jim Clark Motorsport Museum in Duns reopens with two surprise Clark cars making their first appearance since his death, to rekindle the Borders' connections with F1. As a nation of sports fans, Scots tend to play down stardom, which is perhaps why Clark remains little known to many in his own country - and even in the Borders which he called home. Racing cars tend to be among the museum's biggest attraction, and the two new arrivals have previously been unseen since Clark raced. The 1965 Type 35 Formula 2 with a Cosworth engine was designed as F1's new car for that year. The 1965 Lotus Type 33, chassis R11, is also making its way to Duns.

Maryfield Tram Depot Begins Transformation Into Dundee Museum of Transport’s Future Home
Following the funding announcement in late January cementing Dundee Museum of Transport’s move to the Maryfield Tram Depot site, the first phase of works is now underway on site. Work began three weeks ago to carefully remove the roofs of the 1913 and 1920 sections of the building, alongside installing temporary supports to stabilise the free-standing walls. This stage is progressing well and is an important early step in preparing the structure for its long-term future. Further works are programmed to commence, focusing on the 1901 and 1913 sections as well.
Restored Aston Martin DB4 Is Now On Display At Haynes Motor Museum
A 1961 Aston Martin DB4 is now on show at the Haynes Motor Museum after more than 20 years as a static exhibit. The restoration of Škoda Museum's 104/II truck is now well underway with its cab refitted, and restoration continuing as scheduled. Workers at the museum's restoration workshop always try to use as many original parts as possible. If a part is beyond saving, they will make it themselves or have it produced. They
also make frequent use of the local archive, studying the technical
drawings and descriptions of vehicles as well as classic maintenance
procedures.
Transport Museum Wythall’s Midland Red D7 Approaches End of Restoration
Look
at Transport Museum Wythall's Midland Red D7, approaching the end of a significant restoration. The body
structure is new, its initial estimate fell short when the panels were
removed but we've carried on up hill to the crest. But they're not quite
there yet, under the skin they need go through all the mechanicals with a
light overhaul, but nothing to stop it coming into service in the
summer.
Partizan M-50 Moped Donated to Nikola Tesla Technical Museum
There is an interesting anecdote related to the Partizan M-50 moped produced in Subotica. The factory, which was otherwise known for its bicycle production, began producing the M-50 moped in 1959. Thus, along with Tomos in Koper and TMZ in Zagreb, another factory with the same production program was created. The first series of the M-50 moped was equipped with an engine supplied by the Zagreb Motor Factory. The engine had a displacement of 50 cc and prodiced 2.2 hp. This moped was produced in 1963 and is from the second series, which had an S38 engine, manufactured under a Polish license. The moped was donated to the museum by Mrs. Vesna Kušek.
