“Hard Currency Cars And Shortages” Opens At Ukrainian “Time Machines” Museum
On 14, 2025, Time Machine Museum opened its new exhibition “Hard Currency Cars and Shortages". The exhibition showcases cars built not for the Soviet domestic market, but for export, as well as other household items that were considered scarce in those times. The main exhibit is a 1983 VAZ 2106, produced specifically for sale in the Benelux countries. This model features equipment uncommon — and even “unnecessary” — for the Soviet consumer: inertial seat belts, alloy wheels, bumpers of a different design, and additional safety bars inside the doors.
Pop-up Exhibition: German Tuners from the ’80s and the ’90s Set To Open in September At Autoworld
This autumn, Autoworld celebrates the most flamboyant period in automotive history: the German Tuners of the 1980s and 1990s. Think massive turbos, outrageously wide wheels, kilos of fiberglass, exotic paint, hi-fi systems to drown out festivals, and spoilers that touched the clouds. From September 5 to December 14, we proudly present the thematic exhibition ‘German Tuners from the ’80s and the ’90s’, showcasing around fifteen legendary showstoppers from iconic names such as Koenig Specials, Mattig, Gemballa, Treser, Brabus, and many others.
New Automotive Museum Coming to Melbourne
Melbourne is set to receive a new automotive museum, with the Trydel Museum slated to open in the first week of November. Located in Upper Beaconsfield, the eclectic assortment of machinery is the result of a lifetime of collecting by automotive industry figure Terry Dowel. To be housed in the former home of the Victorian Equestrian Centre, the collection is noted as being world class, ranging from a replica of 1887 Motor Wagen, through to Australia's first and only Tucker, amidst numerous unique cars.
Historical Car Museum of Iran Reopens
The Automobile Museum of Iran, also known as the Historical Car Museum of Iran, will host the visitors as of Saturday (August 9). According to the Public Relations Department of Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, following the adoption of temporary security measures in the wake of recent regional developments, the Niavaran Cultural-Historical Complex, which had been closed for a limited period, began its gradual reopening process with a focus on preserving cultural heritage and ensuring the safety of visitors.

1944 Royal Mail Morris Y-Type Van Enriches the Collection of Oxford Bus Museum
On August 15, a group of our enthusiastic volunteers secured a new addition to the Morris Motors collection of Oxford Bus Museum; a 1944, Royal Mail Morris Y-Type van.Y-Type vans are pretty scarce these days, rarer still in Royal Mail guise. This one is possibly just one of only 3 left in the world. Despite the van's minor blemishes, the museum staff immediately recognised it as worthy of saving and felt it will make a valuable addition to their fleet, becoming the first commercial Morris Motors vehicle ever owned by the museum.
County Classics Motor Museum Founder Pat Hawkins Passes Away
The owner and driving force behind a car museum in Taunton has passed away. Patrick Hawkins died suddenly on August 6 at the age of 68. Mr Hawkins, a passionate petrolhead, was behind the conversion of the former County Stores, in North Street, Taunton, into the County Classics Motor Museum. Spread across several floors, the attraction showcased notable vehicles through the years, featuring many cars from his own collection, built up over many years of motoring.
1970 AMX Now on Display at America On Wheels Museum
This 1970 AMX at the America On Wheels Museum is part of the display by the Mid-Atlantic Classic AMX-AMC Club. This part of "The Battle of the Car Clubs II" which features four car clubs: Antique Truck Club of America; “Free Spirit” Chapter, of the Buick Club of America; Lehigh Valley Model "A" Club, and Mid-Atlantic Classic AMX-AMC Club who are battling to win the best display award as voted by the museum's patrons.
St. Charles Motorcycle Museum Acquires ‘Barn Find’ 1920 Excelsior
St. Charles Motorcycle Museum & Art Gallery has acquired a 'barn find' 1920 Exelsior, which will soon be on display at the museum. The famous American Excelsior motorcycles were produced by the Excelsior Motor Manufacturing Company of Chicago, Illinois from 1907 until 1931.
NB Center Displays 1950 Chrysler Town and Country Newport at the 74th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance
The NB Center for American Automotive Heritage has announced that its incredibly original 1950 Chrysler Town and Country Newport will be on display this Sunday August 17th at the 74th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. This amazing car has just over 5,000 miles from new, retains all its original wood, all its factory paint, the original interior, and most incredibly was never titled and remains on its Manufacturers Statement of Origin.
