Museum Information
DESCRIPTION
The museum houses a unique collection of fire engines, objects, photos, and other attributes. During your visit to the museum, you will get a very good idea of firefighting from the very beginning until the end of the 1970s.
In the Fire Museum, you will see, among other things: leather buckets, dump bags, bucket syringes, a pump built on a wheelbarrow, various hand-operated pumps pulled by men, a beautiful steam sprayer, and various pumps powered by petrol or diesel engines. In addition, the collection contains both small and large pieces of equipment necessary to fight a fire.
The collection of fire trucks includes ladder trucks and men’s cars, including a large Mercedes from the 1930s. The museum’s showpieces are the Ahrens Fox from 1927 and a Seagrave from 1917. Both cars were made roadworthy by volunteers
The current collection was obtained through many spontaneous donations and loans from both private individuals and fire brigades across the country. Attributes are also exhibited outside the country’s borders. If you own something that you think belongs in this museum, please let us know. We are interested in all attributes, vehicles, pumps, exit kits, helmets, protective equipment, etc., i.e., everything that has had to do with firefighting, from the very beginning of firefighting until about 1980.
