Museum Information
DESCRIPTION
The Norwegian Road Museum provides experiences for all the family. The museum has a road history exhibition covering more than 1000 m2 and more than 100 original museum objects. These range from small Viking Age glass beads to a massive 12-tonne excavator!
In 2019 a new museum building was inaugurated, called the Norwegian Vehicle History Museum. This exhibition includes parts of the private Norwegian Vehicle History Museum which was located in the center of
Lillehammer from 1983 to 2015. The display includes a large exhibition of cars, motorcycles, mopeds and bicycles from the beginning of the 20th century until the 1990s. The main emphasis is placed on ordinary vehicles and gives a picture of what has been seen on Norwegian roads from the car’s infancy up to the present day.
