Motala Motormuseum

The museum is situated between Stockholm and Gothenburg, by the east shore of the lake Vättern. We are located in the 70 year old grain storage house in the harbour of Motala, a few meters from the guest harbour. Also the old channel boats, that travel the Göta Kanal between Stockholm and Gothenburg, anchor here during summertime. The museum, which now has 2000 sqm of display area, opened in 1995. “Apart from the approximately 200 vehicles, we have a big collection of about 300 different appliances. In addition to that, we have fotographic and office equipment, typewriters, toys, surface-ignition engines, petrol engines of different kinds, chain saws, a fine collection of mounted engines predating the moped, and many different everyday objects and curiosities.”
