Museum Information
DESCRIPTION
Zwickau was where August Horch set up his automobile manufacturing companies at the begininning of the 20th century. A decision was made in 2000 that the former Audi factory will also be converted to a museum. The new facility, which was named after August Horch, founder of Audi, was opened in 2004. It has a unique background: it is not entirely a corporate museum, but enjoys the financial benefits of being closely associated with Audi. It features the rich automotive history of Saxony, with a particular focus on the brands Audi have been associated with. About 160 large sized and numerous small-sized exhibits are presented on an exhibition space of about 6,500 square metres.
