DESCRIPTION
Malaysiaβs initial step into heavy industries especially in the production of commercial vehicles was the set up of heavy Industries Company (HICOM) in 1980 and subsequently Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Berhad (PROTON), in 1983, Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Berhad (PERODUA) in 1993 and Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sendirian Berhad (MODENAS) in 1995. Over the years the automotive industry in Malaysia has expend. Parallel to the development of Malaysia vehicles industries, a museum has been built. The National Automobile Museum displays locally made cars and motorcycles and imported cars that have been used in the country.
