Národní technické muzeum

Following an extensive renovation period, the National Technical Museum re-opened its doors in 2011. The National Technical Museum is one of the oldest technical museums in Europe. The most valuable collection items include, for instance, such unique items as astronomical devices with which Tycho Brahe and Johannes Kepler worked when they were engaged at Rudolf II’s court in Prague, the first car made in the Czech Lands and the oldest extant Bugatti car, the first test turbine of the inventor Viktor Kaplan, one of the first daguerreotypes in the world, and several dozen historic railway vehicles which the National Technical Museum owns and partly also operates.
